Cardinal Paper Mache Ornaments

I really wanted to make one more winter craft before the Valentine rush so I decorated two mini paper mache boxes. They are filled with microbeads to make them shakers, wrapped in paper and layered with torn pieces of old cards. I wrapped them in trim from old doilies and added an eyelet screw to hang a treasure. The final touch is my wonderful Aleene's glitter snow. They now adorn my winter berry wreath. I am on a cardinal kick this year (see my tag with alcohol inks also in Jan.)

Winter Homemade Envelopes

This is my favorite handmade envelope. I made it last winter. I figured out the dimenesions I needed for holding extra pictures on a scrapbook page or for giving pictures as a gift. Then decorated it with vellum, lots of microbeads, buttons, utee, paint and wire. The snowflake is mini Christmas ornament. This envelope has one of my handmade faux seals made with clay. This also has vellum, utee, and fabric. I pulled the white fuzzy off string to attach for a snowy feel.

Favorite recent layouts

These are just a few of the layouts that I had the most fun making in the last year. Fuzzy string, some copper and paper sewing on the dog layout and a beaded letter I with buttons on the "precious" layout.

Spring Lay-Out

This spring lay-out includes stamping, punches, stickers, chipboard words and a metal G. Although I love winter, I needed to start scrapping from 2 springs ago YIKES!! So behind.

I have been working with Tim Holtz alcohol inks. The tree tag background is metallic paper with alcohol ink dabbed on for the "snowy" effect. The two bottom tags are foil papers altered with the ink ready for my crafty embellishing. I love how this ink really sticks to any glossy surface including metal (brads on tree tag).
