Mask Tags

My local scrapbook store has great "yard sales". I picked this pack of K&Co. paper and embellishments.

So then, I had been craving some time with my new Heidi Swapp mask. I made three with the colors to match my new paper pack loot.

Making the mask is alot of fun. I used inks and Tattered Angels glitter spray. Then finished with the rub-ons, stickers, 3d flower stickers and edging for the aged look. This mask technique is described also in Tim Holtz using a misting technique with perfect pearls. Check it out it's really cool!!!

Clay MiniBook

This was a fun book to make. I used a baking clay for this minibook vs the air dry clay. After this stamped image baked, I used a little gold foil (I had a hard getting it to stick with tacky glue), metallic paint, inks, and a little glass paint for a shimmer.

I then attached an accordian of paper, drilled holes for the leather cord and attached the buttons I altered with alcohol inks.

This is the back of the book, gold ink was stamped prior to baking. Next time I want to press gold leaf (instead of the foil) into the clay with the stamp then bake it.

I like this very simple minibook. I use my minibooks mostly for quotes. These are dried leaves sandwiched between vellum paper, sewn and finished off with copper brads. This was a gift for my hubby.

Minibook with Quotes

This is another fun "glass" project I did when I made the "glass" tags. I painted, stamped and placed a flattened, dried flower on top of a round piece of chipboard. (Actually a coaster). Then finished it with the liquid epoxy. While it was still sticky, I pressed the center of the daisy flowers in. The center is gold microbeads and a mini shell.

With ribbon, 6 pages are connected together attached to the chipboard backing. I was able to include 17 quotes with a few Bible verses. Have fun if you decide to make one.

Card

Here is a card with one of the below melted utee embellishments. When the utee is partially cooled, it can be peeled away from the stamp.

Embellishment Fun

This has another home-made clay seal, the starfish. I love making those.

Another lay-out completed, almost, the opposite side to this is almost finished. The brighter paper is stamping that has been sprayed with water to give it a water color effect. (A Tim Holtz idea from a 2005 magazine). Gotta love him!!

I finally pulled out my melting pot again. I dipped an inked stamp into melted utee. This was the Stampendous quad stamp.

My little "Once Upon A Time" frame project made it in the runners-up in the Creative Homearts magazine web-site. The winners have amazing work. So I am excited to have made it in the top 10 runners-up list. A better picture and description is labeled "Fairytale Homemade Frame" on this blog (scroll down to the bottom of this page for the labels).
Happy Crafting!

Scrapbooking Weekend

These pages were fun. I crumpled paper and inked them for an aged look.

Above, the title is "Little Friends" in the lower right corner, not showing. oops

"American Girl"
This is a matchbook style minibook. Below shows it open to hold 6 wallet size pictures.

Here I used cheesecloth inked for an aged look then added tiny shells. I also have 2 homemade clay seals, one shell and one star. They have been painted an touched up with metallics.

For this beach scene, I gessoed plain cardstock for texture then added silver glitter glue for that wonderful beach sparkle. Then I tore the paper for layers.

I was able to get 14 pages done over the weekend at a creative memories scrap in Jackson .N.H.
I used my friend's new cricut (which is how the swirls were made)... really fun!!!

Paper Storage Box

I am very excited, I finally painted and stamped this box. I have been using it for over a year for my scrapbooking paper and now it is finally as pretty as the paper inside it. I used K&Co. paper for the front strips and the top then used some great gemmed 3-D butterflies. The center of the flower is an old button...(I cut the back off). The key is a sticker I put on thick foam paper and cut around it for dimension.
